COURSE OBJECTIVE:
Receive the latest and most comprehensive update on ocular therapeutics.
Learn about the latest pharmaceutical agents, as well as the latest
technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease. Presented
by three of optometrys most popular lecturers, this therapeutics
series will be informative, interactive and entertaining.
Tony
Litwak, OD graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry
and completed his residency at the Baltimore VA Medical Center.
He is currently the residency director of the Maryland Health Care
System Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Litwak brings years of
clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma.
He is author of The Glaucoma Handbook and a founding
member of the Optometric Glaucoma Society
and National Glaucoma
Society. Dr. Litwak is clinical
professor at Pennsylvania College of Optometry, New England College
of Optometry, and SUNY College of Optometry.
Jim
Thimons, OD
is an Ohio State University graduate and completed his residency
at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center.
He is currently the Center
Director for Ophthalmic
Consultants of Connecticut
and has been one of
optometry’s most popular
lecturers. He is a founding
member of the Optometric
Glaucoma Society and
National Glaucoma Society. He is currently the center
director of TLC Connecticut has been one of optometrys most
popular lecturers. He is a clinical authority on anterior segment
disease and refractive surgery.
Dr. Thimons has received numerous professional awards, authored
over 50 publications and conducted eight clinical research projects.
He is clinical professor at The New England College of Optometry
and has been voted one of optometrys 10 most influential people.
John
Spalding, OD
Dr. John M. Spalding earned
his undergraduate degree in
from the University of
Maryland Baltimore County.
He graduated from Nova
Southeastern University’s
College of Optometry in 1997
and subsequently completed a
one year hospital based
residency at the VA Medical
Center in Baltimore,
Maryland. Since the summer
of 1998, Dr. Spalding has
been a member of the
professional staff at the VA
Medical Center in Orlando,
Florida. He is currently the
Optometry Residency and
Student Program Coordinator
at the VA for Nova
Southeastern University
College of Optometry.
Dr. Spalding is a Fellow of
the American Academy of
Optometry and also a member
of the Optometric Glaucoma
Society. In 2005 Dr.
Spalding completed the
Advanced Competency in
Medical Optometry
examination given by the
National Board of Examiners
in Optometry. He has served
as a peer reviewer for
several optometric journals
and has authored or
co-authored papers for both
peer reviewed journals and
trade magazines. Dr.
Spalding has lectured at
continuing education
meetings both nationally and
internationally on various
eye disease related topics.
